Freeman John of Occupy Amsterdam travels occupies around the world, the first being Occupy Utrecht.

First thing to think about: a world citizenship passport. Gary David. It's about refugees. John starts to feel he does not want to be limited to one citizenship but to be a world citizen.

Second: transitional towns network. Lewiss in London [suburb] print their own money, that you can exchange for pounds. Taking power back is the core philosophy of transition towns. It would be nice to go over to not using oil in the future, for example.
Get inspiration: Check out Iceland. They are rewriting the constitution. They are emancipating from global markets. They will become the first independent country.

How to handle poor? Share resources, build a support group with your familie or friend, start with any group. Become independent, stop relying on others.

The Love Police. Communicating with the police in a positive peaceful way.

(extra information: Charlie Veitch of the Love Police added a video on the internet on the 19th of January with the message that officers now have the power to stop and search a person who they reasonably suspect to be a terrorist > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L11zLT699wA&feature=youtube_gdata. Occupy Amsterdam has arranged to have a love police action on Valentine's Day. Maybe we can do the same? Check the Facebook event

Occupy essence
Last weekend around 50 people gathered in a fort. It was about the more spiritual side of occupy. There were a lot of workshops, meditations,

Somenone wants to come to have a talk about palestina. Lonneke takes this on.

Writes that we should protest against Goldman Sachs, this is a criminal bank! They’ve ruined economies. Patrick is thinking about doing action against this.
They are opening a new office, we should go there.

Inviting people to Occupy
Invite students, your acquintances to occupy. Talk to people actively, we welcome more people. Every weekend will we will one day do a discussion, possibly with other things like music.. The first will be this Sunday 15.00.
Patrick will make flyers.

Manolie takes this up. He has contacted the Aob.
We want to put up a tent at jaarbeursplein and give people coffee. BE THERE. It only takes two hours, from ? 13.00.

Starting again, redoing questions.. so it will take some more time. He’s already contacted a lot of people, a lot of people are supporting. Good action!

Internet voor occupiers

There is a suggestion to try to get some support from the library to use the internet.

Occupy carnaval
Lonneke points out the idea to get dressed up as bankers during carnaval in Venlo on the 18th and 19th of February. We want to join the Boetegewoene Boetezitting (buitengewone buitenzitting). This is a tradition where people involved in carnaval can have the stage in the fresh air in front of the stadstheathre at the Maaspoort. We may contact carnavals association VVG Jocus for this.

Tegenlicht
Next Monday there is a documentary about Occupy Italy, Spain and Portugal on the Dutch channel NL 2 at 21.15 in the evening. This is also possible to see afterwards on the Tegenlicht website.

The Morris dancers
This Friday from 0:00 till 07:00 the Morris dancers will come to Occupy Utrecht to have nice music for nice people in the night. Frederik will make an event for this evening on Facebook and will do some promotional activities around this event.

Jip & Janneke statement
Anita has rewrite the Jip en Janneke statement.

Content: In general everybody is happy about the statement. It’s possible to get more practical examples in the text and the way of how Occupiërs are working together can be more clear, but overall it’s everybody is happy with the content and wants to publish it on the website. It’s always possible to add some things in it. The Statement is not in place of the statement now, but is written as an extra. Just as the Nijntje statement will be an extra (with cartoons with use of more short and simple sentences) on the Jip en Janneke statement

Format: To have it more in Jip & Janneke style it’s needed to have some cartoons on the text. We will come back on this point when someone find people that can draw these cartoons.

National Occupy Meeting Eindhoven
On this Saturday there is the 3th national occupy meeting, this time in Eindhoven. It’s possible to overnight at a Youth Hostel in Harpert. The idea behind this is to socialize after the meeting with fellow Occupiërs with the next day a walking to the forests near Eindhoven.

General about the Occupy Camp Utrecht
It are hard times in the camp, lots of ideas are coming up but the occupation is too low. This bring stress to the few people that are on the camp on a highly permanent basis. It’s needed to have more people covering up the actions and have arranged the daily needed basics as coffee, food and warmth in these cold days.
