Bij het tentenkamp in Ter Apel arriveren nog dagelijks mensen, zodat er nu zo'n driehonderd mensen met uiteenlopende nationaliteiten bivakkeren. In enkele gevallen bezitten ze niet meer dan de kleding die ze dragen. Gisteren is een Irakese man onwel geworden als gevolg van het koude weer en met een ambulance afgevoerd. In het kamp verblijft een zwangere vrouw die nog geen medisch onderzoek heeft gehad. Er is een zodanig tekort aan kleding dat stukken zeil worden gebruikt om zich tegen de kou te beschermen.

Minister Gerd Leers maakte dinsdagavond bij het vragenuur duidelijk dat er 'geen valse hoop' moet worden geboden en liet in het midden of en wanneer hij zou optreden met een 'eventuele beëindiging van het tentenkamp.'

Wel is inmiddels duidelijk dat eerste hulp is tegengehouden. Het Rode Kruis dat gereed stond om naar het tentenkamp te gaan werd teruggefloten door het ministerie van BZK. Er is hierdoor een tekort ontstaan aan medische faciliteiten en hulpverleners.

De omstandigheden waarin vluchtelingen in Nederland veelal verkeren zijn in strijd met internationale, bindende mensenrechtenverdragen, zoals het EVRM en het asielrecht. Hoog tijd dus om het schrijnende vluchtelingenbeleid van Nederland verder op de kaart te zetten:

Alle asielzoekers en vluchtelingen en sympathisanten worden uitgenodigd om zo spoedig mogelijk naar Ter Apel te komen, en zo het vluchtelingenkamp om te dopen tot een demonstratiekamp. Hoe meer mensen ter plekke aanwezig zijn, hoe krachtiger de positie, hoe sterker het statement naar de politiek en hoe sterker we de gevolgen van het Nederlandse vreemdelingenbeleid in de spotlight kunnen zetten. Komt allen. HOORT, ZEGT HET VOORT

Organisatie

Gisteren hebben busjes o.a. vanuit Ede en Utrecht voedsel- en goederendonaties afgeleverd en de komende dagen zal de aanvoer doorgaan. STIL Utrecht heeft o.a. brandstof, voedsel en matjes geleverd. Vanuit Ede kwam een legertent en vanuit Limburg is een legertent toegezegd. Aan de infrastructuur wordt al dagenlang hard gewerkt. Drinkwatertanks en toiletten zijn door de gemeente geplaatst, maar meer drinkwatertanks zijn gewenst naarmate het kamp uitbreidt en de loopafstanden groter worden. Een generator levert momenteel beperkt stroom. Een radio-livestream vanuit het kamp staat voor donderdag gepland.

Waar nog vraag naar is:

- AGGREGATEN, ter uitbreiding van de stroomvoorziening
- tenten
- IPC-vaten voor drinkwater
- jerrycans voor drinkwater
- SOKKEN en laarzen
- gereedschap
- kookpitten en gasflessen
- borden en bestek, glazen en mokken
- schoppen en harken
- zeil en folie
- batterijen (hiervoor geldt; Aldi is even goed of slecht als Duracell)

- lakens voor spandoeken

CALL TO REFUGEES

People are finding their way to the tent camp in Ter Apel in small numbers, which as of today brings the total to around three hundred people. In some cases a person possesses no more than the clothes they are wearing. Yesterday an Iraqi man became unwell as a result of the cold weather and was taken away by ambulance. In the camp a five-month pregnant woman has not yet received proper medical examination. The shortage of clothing is such that pieces of sailing are used against the cold.

Tuesday night at question time, minister Gerd Leers of Immigration made clear that he's not providing any "false hope", while he made no reference to a deadline of the camp.

What is clear, is the first aid was stopped. The Red Cross was ready to assist at the camp, when it was ordered to pull back by the Interior Ministry at the last minute. As a result, there is a shortage of medical facilities and care providers.

The conditions of refugees in the Netherlands are often in conflict with international, legally binding human rights treaties, including the ECHR and the right of asylum. Now more than ever it's time to put the refugee practices of the Netherlands in the spotlight:

All asylum seekers and refugees and supporters are invited to come to Ter Apel as soon as possible, and to help turn the refugee camp into a demonstration camp. The more people there are present, the more powerful the position, the stronger the statement to Parliament and the stronger the spotlight will be on Dutch immigration policy. Come all. Organisation

Yesterday, deliveries from Ede and Utrecht were delivered and the supply will continue in the coming days. STIL Utrecht provided fuel, food and mats among other supplies. From Ede came an army tent as well from Limburg an army tent is ready to go. The infrastructure at the camp is slowly but steadily being constructed. Potable water tanks and toilets are placed by the municipality, but more are needed as the camp expands and walking distances increase. A generator provides electricity in limited quantities. An internet radio stream is planned to go on air Thursday.

What is still needed:

- GENERATORS, to create more power outlets
- Tents
- IPC containers for drinking water
- Jerry cans for drinking water
- Urgent: SOCKS and boots
- Tools
- Stove and gas bottles
- Plates and cutlery, glasses and mugs
- Shovels and rakes
- Sail and foil
- Batteries (note; Aldi is as good or bad as Duracell)
