Minutes General Assembly 8 May 2012

- Past week

• Hans quits Occupy.
• New arrival: Daniel
• Groningen: an Occupy tent was set on fire. Please be extra careful here as well.
• Two initiatives are mentioned: Committee Vlekken Weg (Committe Stains Away) and de Daklozenpartij (Political party for the Homeless)
• There will be an online system for joining Occupy Utrecht activities.
• There is a forum. Take a look at the OU website for joining.

- Beursvloer Utrecht 31 mei
Beursvloer Utrecht is a platform in which companies and non-profit organisations can meet each other to seek cooperation. Occupy wants to join. Volunteers for that day: Yvette, Frederik, Patrick, And maybe: Maria, Maan, Lonneke

- Structuring OU
Lonneke proposes more structure in the way we operate, so we can be more effective. She and others wrote an action plan, which can be found on the mailinglist. The action plan can be used to give more structure and clarity for actions, so it will be more clear for everyone what the action is about. Then it will also be easier to invite sister organisations to join. To see how this action plan works an action plan will be made for getting a mobile info stand.
Furthermore Frederik and Lonneke will make a manual for manning the info stand.

- Smoelenboek OU
To investigate all the talent and network that we have in OU Lonneke initiated a smoelenboek (a digital document with that information in it). Please be careful about privacy. Maria will help making it.

- Blockupy Frankfurt
Please check the website, probably 6 OU’ers will go at least. There is a bus going (65 euro return), be quick, can be full soon.

- Possible move to a different location
Pieter-Jan proposes to change the camp. The idea is to remove the sleeping tents and get a mobile info stand instead of a fixed one that we have now. Main reason for changing the camp: too much energie goes to it. After a long discussion almost everyone agrees with this plan. It is decided, but later on, it appears that 3-4 fullltime OU’ers have no place to sleep if the sleeping tents disappear. This and the later appearance of Florian who is very motivated to keep the sleeping tents and wants to take responsibility in coordinating them. A few people say: Lately a lot of work has been put in making the camp more attractive. There seems to be a more positive vibe in the camp lately. It is decided to keep the sleeping tents. Not everyone is amused with the way this decision has been taken.

-Action against cuttings bus companies (GVU)
There will be a flyering action against the cuttings in the Utrecht bus company. Manolie, Daniel, Frederik and Patrick will join. The GVU flyering action results in a discussion on how to motivate OU’ers to join actions. Some people say they need more information about an action before they can decide to join. This could be put down in an action plan. Other people do not see the point of it, at least not for a relatively simple action as flyering, or in general they don’t see the point of making an action plan.

In between Floris mentions how wonderful it is that in Occupy Utrecht a group of people who do not know each other at first are cooperating and creating together in a very motivated and committed way!
